NEED ROOM / BASEMENT, ETC. around PORTLAND, OR (pregnant!)

transhousingnetwork:

My partner and I are both mid-20’s and both trans, I’m ftm, post transition, and legally male. My partner is mft. Our situation is dire as we are 6 months pregnant, very accidentally, and based in a heavily religious and unaccepting city. We need to get out, ASAP, to a place where we can find some resources and safety - this place is becoming unsafe for us very quickly and we are having a hard time finding any appropriate medical care. This is our first child together, but we will have our 2 1/2-year-old twins with us. We need at least one room, basement, or realistic living area. This will only be for the summer, or less - as soon as we can find steady employment and a permanent place, as our older two kids will be joining us once the school year begins, and we don’t want to ask anyone to house that many people.

We own our own business and plan to establish ourselves permanently in Portland or the surrounding area. We can pay a small amount of rent but it would really help us out if we could pour lot of effort into sweat equity - we’re handy, clean, and able to take care of household chores, maintenance, meals, gardening, yard work, transportation (we have a vehicle), babysitting, pet sitting, laundry, errands, or anything else that needs to be done on a daily basis. We can also offer to pay using our business services (hand-etched glass and pencil portraits) or tattoo work (I’m fully trained and certified, opened and ran my own shop).

We would be very grateful if someone would also be able to point us in the direction of friendly medical care or maybe a doula or midwife, as we direly need it.

We do have a dog, who we are just not willing to part with, though she can stay outside most of the day if this is a problem. She is an indigenous (wild native) endangered breed, and as such is extremely intelligent. She’s fully trained, doesn’t bark, doesn’t have accidents, and is non-destructive - her nails won’t even scratch the floor. She hikes daily, thus is very calm inside. She gets along with all other animals and is gentle with kids. She’s up-to-date on all vaccines. We promise, she will never cause a problem.

Please email me if you can help - we’re very scared. r.tonic424@gmail.com. I don’t have a Tumblr - sorry.
